    “Training in TTU”

In order to train and upgrade the teaching staff of the Tajik Technical University, two four day training workshops were conducted on "Introduction to road safety audit" for the professors of the Tajik Technical University between February 26 and March 6, 2018. More than 30 people took part in the training workshops.

International trainers Matthew Chamberlain and Phillip Jordan familiarized postgraduate students and professors of the Tajik Technical University with the topic of road safety audit. Subjects included the characteristics of road safety technology, good signs and markings,  roadside hazard management (what is it and why is it important for Tajikistan?), the concept of a clear zone, a strategy for managing risks on the roadsides, and the proper use of barriers. Of special emphasis was the key road safety audit steps.

Specialists in practical classes accompanied the training participants to the prospective audit sites and at the end each of the group provided their audit report.

In the end of the event, the engineers received answers to all questions of interest, as well as Certificates of successful completion of training.

Also within the framework of the visit there were visits to several "black spots" in the city of Dushanbe and audits of a section of the proposed Dushanbe Kurgan-Tube Highway upgrade in the village of Obi  Shifo.
